Somewhere between folk and soul, Bay delivers his songs with a bard-like flair, often weaving stories in and out of songs, making for a cabaret-like atmosphere that is playful, authentic and ethereal. Since The Meadow‘s release Bay has gone on to play live shows at Bridgewater Hall, Manchester International Festival, The Jazz Cafe, Refract Festival, HOMOBLOC, Shakespeare North Playhouse, York Theatre Royal, Live at Leeds and more.
Bay's recent release The Meadow (2023) caught the attention of music lovers across genres, including DJs Luke Una, James Holroyd, Kath McDermott and Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy. Bay’s record was proudly displayed in the window of Manchester’s Piccadilly Records and enjoyed a few radio spins including Mark Radcliffe’s Folk Show on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3’s ‘Inside Music’ and Worldwide FM.
As of February 2026 Bay is in the process of recording a second concept album, currently titled BAYARD which follows on from The Meadow into a mystical woods. Departing from The Meadow’s more introspective, folky core, BAYARD is full of playful funky energy, drawing from influences such as Amy Winehouse, Labi Siffre and Burt Bacharach. If you’ve heard Bay’s recent single ‘Drifting’ you can hear a nod to what is to come.
