Inspired by one of the artist’s ancestors, Company Four delve into Mary Ann Barker's story, which was kept hidden for generations

An autobiographical exploration of postpartum psychosis using the company's unique brand of multidisciplinary storytelling, including puppetry, spoken word, projection, live sound design, and movement.

Alongside this, with support from Action on Postpartum Psychosis, the stage show and its adjoining exhibition explore modern stories of mothers who have lived experience of this still stigmatised mental illness and shed light on the work of those who seek to raise awareness.

"Your mummy saw things others could not see,

She had magic in her finger tips,

saw rivers and walked across the sea”
