Waterside's gallery spaces are a platform for the best in contemporary photography and applied arts from both established and emerging artists.

We are also proud to feature animation exhibitions from the Cosgrove Hall Films Archive, which is hosted here at Waterside Arts.

Please note, the archive is not currently on display year-round at Waterside's gallery spaces. 

OUR SPACES

The Lauriston Gallery

The Lauriston is a versatile space overlooking the picturesque Waterside Plaza and Bridgewater Canal and is equipped with lighting, projection and audio facilities.

It is the venue's main art space featuring an annual programme centred on contemporary photography, applied arts and animation.

Gallery '74

Our Gallery '74 space (named after the year Trafford Council was founded) profiles new work from emerging artists, graduates and innovative community art projects.

Screenlight

This is a 55 inch / 139cm HD display in the venue's foyer and is a showcase for moving image art, animation and digital media projects.

Waterside's visual arts programme is developed with support from Arts Council England and managed by the Creative Industries Trafford team. Our galleries are free to enter and open Monday to Saturday 10:00 - 17:00 (except when being used for private functions. Please check online before you travel).
