Making Waves at Refract:19
Double Bill Offer
See both Catching Comets and Beach Body Ready for £14.
After discovering a comet hurtling towards Earth, Toby snaps and turns into the action hero in his own movie on a mission to save the world from impending doom.
Flash-back a year; Toby is knocked off course when somebody crashes into his life.
A disaster movie about falling in love.
Catching Comets is a new show by multi award-winning Ransack Theatre that asks how we’re supposed to be big, brave and strong when we look and sound nothing like the heroes we grew up with on our screens.
BEACH BODY READY
The time has come. It's the season of cutting carbs, hitting it hard at the gym and shaving everything from the chin down. Summer has rocked up and the media has us thinking about how our bodies aren't up to scratch - and and there's companies ready to capitalise on that. We've been shamed, dehumanised and humiliated for how we look, and we've had enough.
Join The Roaring Girls for a defiantly feel good show which sticks two fingers up to everything the media said you should look like.
The Roaring Girls are getting Beach Body Ready. Are you?
There will be a post-show discussion with Ransack Theatre and The Roaring Girls after Beach Body Ready.
Making Waves is a project founded by Waterside Arts and CIT, which aims to provide a helping hand to makers, artists and companies in overcoming the challenges and barriers faced when touring new work or considering the future life of their projects.

19:00 - 20:05: Catching Comets
20:30 - 21:25: Beach Body Ready
There will be a post-show discussion after Beach Body Ready with a chance to explore the themes presented in both productions with The Roaring Girls and Ransack Theatre.
